They know they should take legal advice, but they also know it&#8217;s expensive, complicated, and might be a bottleneck. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-default wp-block-paragraph\">Often, that advice comes wrapped in fear: regulators, fines, worst-case scenarios, before anyone&#8217;s worked out whether they&#8217;re likely, or what they&#8217;d actually mean for a business your size. The result is that people feel like they understand less once they&#8217;ve asked than before they did, and that&#8217;s a real blocker to getting advice that could make the difference between a business flourishing or failing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Concatena starts from a different place. Doing the right thing usually isn&#8217;t as hard as you&#8217;ve been told: it mainly needs someone to think it through with you properly, before deciding what, if anything, to do about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In practice, that means: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>direct access to a senior lawyer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>fixed fees agreed before the work starts, and<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>advice that tells you what you actually need to know, including, often, that the risk is manageable and you don&#8217;t need to spend more money on it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have 25 years of commercial law practice, including senior roles at international firms. I know how those practices work from the inside, and I know what happens when you step back and ask: who does this model actually serve?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I work across two connected worlds. On one side, I support law firms, in-house teams and legal professionals with the kind of complex commercial, data and technology work that needs senior experience, and helping their most valuable asset, their staff, work more effectively and with purpose. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other, I work with founders and small businesses building with data, AI and new technology, often without much legal support behind them at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The common thread, wherever the work comes from, is wanting a straight answer rather than a qualified opinion in six pages with a recommendation to seek further advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The question I measure every decision in this practice against: would this make someone feel welcomed and confident, or overwhelmed?
